Xml Site Maps

Over the years Fat Galah has written many xml site maps for search engines to drill further into clients sites, but never knew the limits.

Here are some basic hints and tips:

  • Max of up to 50,000 urls
  • Max up to 10Mb for your xml site map
  • Make sure to you "UTF-8 encoded" the url
    • For example - http://www.fatgalah.com/hosting-services/?cpg=1&page=4
    • UTF-8 encoded =  http://www.fatgalah.com/hosting-services/?cpg=1&page=4

The Sitemaps protocol allows the Sitemap to be a simple list of URLs in a text file. And as you said Sitemap files have a limit of 50,000 URLs and 10 megabytes per Sitemap. http://www.directclicks.com.au
